Last week’s PPAI 2026 EXPO reminded me why I love this industry so much.

Yes, there were booths, badges, and miles of walking. But more than anything, it was about people—conversations, introductions, and moments that don’t show up on an agenda.

First Meetings, Real Connections

One of the most rewarding parts of the show was meeting customers for the first time—many of whom came to us through referrals from existing customers. There’s something incredibly meaningful about being introduced by someone who already trusts you. Those conversations start differently. They’re warmer, more honest, and grounded in shared experience.

Breaking Bread and Talking Shop

We hosted a breakfast that turned into something much bigger than coffee and bagels. It became a space for real dialogue around company stores, gifting, and what’s actually working (and not working) in the field. Bringing customers together with their peers sparked thoughtful, candid discussions—exactly the kind that move ideas forward.

Gifting, Stores, and Shared Learning

Throughout the week, we had countless conversations about stores and gifting—how they’re evolving, where friction still exists, and how we can collectively do better. These weren’t sales pitches; they were collaborative problem-solving sessions. The kind that remind you this industry thrives when knowledge is shared.

Discovering What’s Next

EXPO also gave us the chance to discover new suppliers for our on-demand product catalog—partners who understand speed, flexibility, and quality. Even more exciting was meeting new European suppliers who can help us bring production closer to international end users, opening doors for smarter global fulfillment.

Talking Tech and the Road Ahead

I had the opportunity to be interviewed about the upcoming PromoStandards Tech Summit, which was both energizing and validating. The conversations around standards, integrations, and the future of promo tech felt sharper and more urgent than ever—in a good way.

We also spent meaningful time strategizing with other on-demand suppliers about how to grow this part of the business responsibly and, just as importantly, how to educate the market. The goal isn’t just adoption—it’s understanding.

Dinner with a Legend

A personal highlight? Dinner with one of the industry’s favorite tech minds, Mr. Promo Pilot himself, Eric Granata. Great food, great laughs, and even better conversations about where this industry is headed.

Humility, Discomfort, and a Cheesehead

And yes—I walked the floor wearing my cheesehead and a custom-printed QR-coded t-shirt. It was intentionally uncomfortable. It sparked conversations, smiles, and more than a few double takes. It also served as a reminder to stay humble, stay curious, and not take myself too seriously.

Grateful and Energized

I left PPAI 2026 EXPO grateful—for our customers, our partners, and an industry that continues to show up for one another. The collaboration, openness, and generosity I experienced last week are exactly what make this space special.

Now it’s time to take what we learned, keep the conversations going, and build what’s next—together.
